Paul Rand was a popular graphic designer in the 80s and is best known for his corporate logo designs. This work, in particular, was created imitate a Snellen eye chart used in doctor's offices. To make it relevant to college students and teens, Rand chose to feature Yale's mascot, the bulldog throughout the poster. This design shows how adding a feature relevant to the intended audience can add more interest or appeal. The poster embodies what makes a good design- logicality, iconic, and wittiness.
